Dr Jennifer Li
Dr Jennifer Li is a renowned orthodontist with international recognition in her field. She brings extensive experience from Sydney, Hong Kong, and Auckland, combining clinical excellence with groundbreaking research.
Dr Jennifer Li is an internationally recognized orthodontist who has practiced in Sydney and Hong Kong, and worked at the University of Michigan, USA. She is also a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.
Jennifer earned her bachelor of dental medicine training from Wits (Witwatersrand) University in 1998 and was awarded her degree in 2000. She then started orthodontic speciality training the same year and completed a three-year master of orthodontic clinical training in 2004. After that, she was awarded a scholarship to do a PhD in orthodontics and completed her further PhD study at the University of Hong Kong being in Hong Kong from 2005 until 2009.
During this period, Jennifer passed the Orthodontic speciality exam from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, MFDS(Ed), and became an overseas member with the college in 2008. She also published research papers related to her scientific research work.
Jennifer moved from Ann Arbor to Sydney's Darlinghurst in Sydney from 2010 till more than four years, which included two days a week of clinical patients care, teaching, research, and clinical supervision. She then continued with a new private study within St George hospital, the centre of sleep medicine at the University of New South Wales in 2015, starting from 2015 to 2017. Jennifer was appointed as a clinical assistant professor in Orthodontics until 2018. In 2017, Jennifer was also elected as a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. She has also published research papers on orthodontic patients in Prince Philip Dental Hospital of Hong Kong.
Jennifer returned to Sydney, completed the required license related submission and exams with the New Zealand Dental Council, and has worked in Auckland since 2022 as an orthodontic specialist.
Apart from working within the orthodontic field, Jennifer has a wide range of hobbies, including sports, and outdoor activities. In her youth she was a competitive swimmer, Chinese athlete, and passed the national exam of band 10 in Guzheng.
Jennifer has a lively and cheerful character. In Proverbs and more, she speaks fluent English as well as Cantonese and Mandarin.
